I shot a very similar scene awhile ago (here) when I was first getting started with HDR. I decided it was time for an update, and it gave me a chance to compare my HDR style today, with what I was doing then.

Ever since I moved to San Diego it’s been my goal to get to 20 consecutive laps up and down these stairs. The closest I’ve come is 15. It’s time for me to get back into a workout routine, I need to get to 20, that’s going to be my goal, to do 20 reps before the end of 2012.

Best at Home Abs Workout Routine for Beginners

We all know that exercising is very healthy for our bodies, but sometimes our home workout routine becomes more of a chore than a benefit. There are a variety of exercises you can do to that will help you achieve great results and have fun in the process
Improving your overall fitness doesn’t have to be either exspensive or time-consuming. The Office Workout is simple, effective, produces results, and you don’t have to work at an office to give it a go.
The first step toward the newer, fitter you is exactly that, a first step. If you can walk to work, do it. You will need shoes that are comfortable to walk in and that’s all. Walk briskly. If you haven’t done much exercise before this, choose a path that is relatively flat and easy to manage. Once you can reach your office desk and still breathe easy, step it up. Choose a path that has a hill in it. If you’ve got time, and the inclination, leave earlier and choose a longer path. Repeat all this for the trip home. Even with a simple 15-min walk, that’s 30 minutes per day more exercise than you were getting previously.
Do not complicate things…
Most people think that if they workout at home, the workout must be pretty complex in order to compare to the workout you can get a gym. This is not true. You can do basic and simple workouts at home and STILL get in shape just as you could at the gym.
Do body weight circuit routines…
One of the best at-home workouts that incorporate both of the things I just mentioned above is doing a body weight circuit routine. A body weight circuit routine is simply choosing a number (3,5,7, etc.) of body weight exercises, do them non-stop in a circuit for let’s say 10 repetitions for each workout, rest for 30-60 seconds, and then complete the circuit again. This type of workout is INTENSE, it burns fat, it builds muscle, you lose weight, and you don’t need equipment!

As we do these ab workouts in the comfort our home, we should first know that opinions on weight loss and muscle training exercises are like mouths – everyone has one but they’re all different and say different things.
In the end, you should find something that you’ll enjoy. Something that you will stick for life. As time passes, you can change up all these exercises until you get the results that are right for you.

The bicycle exercise is easy incorporated into the home workout routine for the abs. This exercise can aid in achieving tone and fit abs as well. This exercise begins lying on your back with your hands behind your head just like the crunches did. The left knee is bent in the direction of the chest touching it to the right elbow utilizing the lifting of the torso. The movements are alternated with a pedaling motion throughout the exercise ensuring that you relax and breathe.
Utilizing abs workouts in the privacy of the home will aid in strengthening the back muscles and the improvement of posture. Performing an abs workout at home also gives you a sense of control over your body and health. Over the years I’ve had gym contracts, gone running, tried to cycle
more often. I even tried skipping once. Nothing really worked for me,
mainly because it was really boring. Then there is the tedium of
actually having to *go* somewhere to exercise, a total pain. For the
last 5 years or so I have mostly worked from home. That situation has
an implicit proximity to snacks, and a marked lack of reason to shift
ones arse very often.

I’ve kind of figured out a method that works for me. It works for me
because it takes advantage and makes virtue of my nerd-like existence.
I started about a month ago and am much fitter, happier and healthier.
Here’s all you need:

an exercise bike (mid range, about £100, Amazon)

a pair of 4.5kg dumbells(turned out I only need the one so give
me a shout if you want the other)
5lb ankle weights (optional but v. useful)
Underpants (optional, but I recommend them and hey, if you’re
like me you’re probably sitting in them right now so, handy!)

a computer

the internet
a printer (or access to one)

favourite TV shows (the more mega-movie length the better, The
Wire/Sopranos/West Wing ideal at 40 minute + run-time)

a floor
video player software

Every day at what would otherwise be my lunchtime (no-one else is
really working at 1pm so you’re unlikely to miss many emails) I wheel
out my bike, plonk it in front of my monitor and load up the latest
episode of Dexter, Mad Men, House, Fringe, Flash Forward etc.

For the next 35 minutes I am mostly unaware of my body churning through
15km of cycling, sweat dripping, and the 350 calories burned as I focus
on the show. The cycle finished I go to the printed sheet of where I am
in my 100 Push-ups or 200 Sit-ups schedule (I
alternate each day) and start doing them on the floor in front of my
computer (I have a mat but you don’t really need one). After each rep
(less than 30 seconds each) you rest for 60 seconds, during which I
re-focus on the show (I’ve been listening of course) and then continue
to finish.

This puts you almost perfectly at the end of a 42 minute show. On the
weekends I switch to shows like Community, Californication and Bored to
Death as they are shorter at 25-30 minutes and so I get a bit of a
workout  but nothing too strenuous (I don’t do pushups/situps on the
weekend).

After a week or so your brain should have conflated exercise with TV
Nerd pleasure
, so you find yourself looking at the time to see if
you can get your bike out. Heck, sometimes I can’t stand the
anticipation so get it out early (have you *seen* the latest episode of
Mad Men!?). As opposed to *any* other exercise routine I’ve tried to
get into in the past (skateboarding excluded – aside from the pain
that’s pure pleasure for me) this one has actually worked. Not only is
daily exercise of greater than 30 minutes part of my routine, it is
something I both look forward to and find pleasurable. And there you
have it, being a TV nerd could be the best thing that’s happened to
your general health and well-being since those 3 evenings you made it
to the gym you still pay for and never visit.

A home workout routine will allow you to exercise anytime you want. When you have an extra 15 or 20 minutes you can do your routine and go about your day.

Reebok CrossFit Toronto Launch – Flash Mob

At noon on Wednesday, February 22, a 15,000-pound shipping container descended from 30 ft. above Yonge and Dundas Square to reveal Reebok’s new global campaign, The Sport of Fitness Has Arrived. Following the drop, a flash mob of 250 people filled the square and preformed an exciting fitness-inspired routine. CrossFit elite athletes, including the 2011 and 2010 Fittest Man on Earth, demonstrated a jaw-dropping CrossFit WOD (workout of the day).

The event was part of Reebok’s global CrossFit campaign, recently launched in New York City and Paris, with London and Tokyo to soon follow. Toronto was the only Canadian city to reveal a launch within the international marketing campaign.

Training Log Workout Logs and What to Do With Them

Whenever you have been working out for quite some time, there is nothing quite like being able to look back at your history and to see exactly how far it is that you have come. The only way that you are going to be able to do this is if you have been faithful filling out training log workout logs or some other media that allows you to do so. If you have not yet started filling these out, now is a perfect time to start because you will be able to use this information on a week to week basis and eventually, look back to see what kind of progress that you’ve made in your own personal workouts.

Some of these com in poster fashion which can easily be hung up on your wall but this does you little good if you go to the gym to work out regularly. It also does not help whenever you are using the specific workout for long periods of time, as you may end up filling out the log and then have to re-create it, which may not be easy.

You might be interested to know that many people use these workout logs that are nothing more than a sheet of paper or perhaps a small notebook that fits in a pocket. As long as you know exactly what you are doing at the gym and already have your routine in mind, you can simply write down details about the routine as you go along. I like to make sure that I not only include the amount of weight that I am lifting or the amount of time that I was running, but I also include specific details about how I was feeling, both during the workout and during that day.

One final thing that I would suggest to you is that whenever you are using any kind of training log workout logs or any other type of material such as this is that you include your diet information in it. Diet is such a big part of our overall workout routine and it can really affect us on a daily basis, as well as a long-term basis. You might find that by comparing what you ate with how you worked out that particular day, you can improve in your gym visits by switching your diet.
